Crno Jezero (literally ‘Black Lake’) is a glacial lake, located on Mount Durmitor, at an altitude of 1,416 meters. It is the biggest and the best known of 18 glacial lakes on the mountain. Surrounded by cozy pine forest, waterfalls, and viewpoints, it's a nice place for a day-long hike.
Since the beginning of the hike, we understood that our summer outfit was not entirely enough. Snow was still there, somewhere reaching the height of a waist, or even more.
The water was indeed black, hence the name of the lakes.
It was here, where we decided to walk around both lakes. This became an exciting, yet somewhat dangerous detour.
That melting snow caused a few waterfalls, flooding the paths around the lakes.
Post-hike dinner in Krčma Nostalgija. Highly recommended restaurant.
Way back to Tivat.
Thanks for scrolling this one patiently to the end 🏔
