The first day started with a couple of bagels and coffees for breakfast. Afer that, we went up hill and down dale, moving in the direction of downtown, changing avenues block by block.
Autumn has conquered Manhattan and painted it with all the bright colors.
Although it was Thursday, the city didn't seem to be very busy.
This attention to details :)
The closer to Downtown, the busier streets are.
High Line, of course!
Following, Chelsea market.
Next day, while Paul was jogging, I scouted the sunny park.
Brunch in Murray's Bagels (Thirteenth & Sixth), who had the best buns out of all we tried.
We could not stand but take pictures of the food everywhere! (No more pictures of food below :))
South Ferry, Battery Park and Financial District.
The tallest building on the island and amazing Santiago Calatrava's Oculus.
Striking feelings near the 9/11 Memorial. As Paul said, Americans, like no other nation, can keep and exalt memory.
One of the most exciting and emotional events during the trip.
At home, Amine played a whole saxophone performance.
After six hours, the runners were still on the move. Outstanding support of other new-yorkers!
Walks in Greenwich Village, Chinatown, Brooklyn Heights, Williamsburg and SoHo. Bagels, coffee, hipsters, burgers, hasids, beer, truffle fries and Jazz.
Brooklyn Heights are pleasantly cosy and surprisingly calm, comparing to crowded jungles of Manhattan.
Autumn in New York by Billie Holiday was the soundtrack of this walk.
And this breathtaking view on Manhattan!
Williamsburg started for us at Flushing avenue, with a strictly orthodox Jewish district.
The most astonishing fact was the number of bars on the windows. We could hardly find ones without the bars.
A very lively place, with a taste of freedom and youth.
You can become an expert on squirrel photos there.
The last day in New York. Cooper-Hewitt Museum, rainy SoHo and Election night.
Thank you for scrolling patiently to the end :)
More to come.
